Do Not Go Shopping...

..for a new vacuum cleaner with an 11 month old who is afraid of vacuum cleaners. I told the guy I knew what I wanted, but he kept trying to show me the newest model. He made the move to turn it on, I warned him, and in slow motion, I saw the horror that spread across Maddy's face. The
" Why-Is-That-So-Loud-And-Mommy-Make-It -Stop -Oh-My-God-Where's Mommy?" look.
So, I took her out, put her on my hip and vacuumed away in the Oreck store. Actually, since that is how I have to vacuum at home, it really was the best way to give it a test run.
Much to Madeline's dismay, we are the proud owners of an 8 pound Oreck vacuum.

We're baaaack !

So its really been a while. I was having trouble posting pictures, but I think I am back on track now.

Madeline has been preparing for Christmas by getting ready to crawl. She's mastered the army crawl( using elbows) and can get somewhere quick by going backwards. I am excited for her , yes, she will have newfound freedom. But I can tell this baby is going to take off at 60 mph. She's been in one place for 10 1/2 months- once she gets moving, she will be all over the place.

We decided to give her one of her toys early. I was wrapping them and she was very interessted, so I took it out of the box. I should have known the box was the draw. She does not want much to do with the Alphabet Ball, what with all its lights and colors and songs. She wants the box. The one with the picture of the baby playing with said Alphabet Ball. I could have saved some money. I should have gotten her diapers, Balmex and wipes to play with. Oh well.
