Toddling

This girl is all over the place. She no longer is content to rest on your hip ( yay!), but that means you have to chase after her half bent over (boo!). And she's fast. She runs down our long hallway in seconds, usually there are a few falls along the way, and many bruises to show it. Madeline is loving her freedom, and while I am excited for her, I feel like she's really becoming more of a toddler, less of a baby.
One thing that makes that transition easier is her newfound ability to give kisses...mmmmmmwaaahhhhhh ! Mommy gets kisses, elmo gets kisses, Monkey gets kisses, and her favorite- Maddy in the mirror- she gets the most kisses of all.

Walkin', Talking, Dancin' ... and Cryin'

These are some of Madeline's favorite activites lately. Mommy's least favorite activity is Cryin'. Its non stop, I'm assuming its because she's getting some more choppers, but after a while I start to think she just doesn't like me anymore. She's becoming much more verbal, saying Barney( uch), car, dog, Bah-ul,( means both paci and actual bottle), hhhi and bbbye... and of course, baby. Everyone is a baby, regardless of age. Yesterday she said " Hi baby" to a man in the store.

And she is a walking fool. We have a gate up to keep her in the living room, and that is just NOT OK with her anymore. She stands at the gate, banging it and crying. She wants to walk back and forth down the hall, and that gate is just not part of her plan. Remove it at once , Mommy.

I have some cute videos of her doing the rest of her activities, but I haven't figured out how to post them here yet. So for now I'll just post a picture of her in the swing at the park. It was taken with my old point and shot, so its not the best quality. Her shirt says" Crabby but Cute" When she got it , I said to
myself " Hmm, she's never really crabby " . Now it fits her perfectly some days.

First...

..steps, tanrums and unpleasant dining experience. Oh and first time ever throwing up. Its been quite an eventful week.

First and most exciting , is steps- she took her first ones yesterday in the living room. She's taken one or two independent steps before , but this was like 8 or 9 , with a destination( the couch which housed the remote control). The cutest thing was she seemed quite pleased with herself- crinkling up her nose and laughing.
I'll get to the rest later- I'm sure you're all dying to know about the stomach virus- haha. Gotta go outside- its beautiful and my girl loves rolling in the grass...
